Wythnos/Week 26: 26 Ionawr/January-1 Chwefror/ February 1915

[English below]

Mae is-bwyllgor lleol Aberystwyth o Bwyllgor Addysg Sir Aberteifi yn ystyried rhoi cymorth ariannol i Lywodraethwyr Ysgol Sirol Aberteifi fel y gallant dalu’r costau ychwanegol o gyflogi athrawon llanw yn lle’r tri athro a ymrestrodd yn y fyddin. Mae Mr Inker ymhlith y recriwtiaid o Aberteifi sy’n cael ffarwel go iawn yn Neuadd y Dref. Ac yn olaf, pwt arall am Wlad Belg – caiff baban bach Belgaidd ei eni yn Aberteifi a’i enwi ar ôl y Maer a’r dref ei hunan – Mathias Cardigan Vandewalle.

The Aberystwyth local sub-committee of the Cardiganshire Education Committee consider granting financial aid to the Governors of Cardigan County School to meet extra charges in connection with engaging substitutes in place of three teachers volunteering for military service. Mr Inker is amongst the Cardigan recruits who receive a hearty send-off at the Guild-Hall, Cardigan. And finally, another Belgian extract – a little Belgian baby born in Cardigan is named after the Mayor and the town itself: Mathias  Cardigan Vandewalle.
