Wythnos 31/Week 31: 2-8 Mawrth/March 1915

Mae’r Ffrancwyr a’u cŵn yn chwilio am filwyr wedi’u hanafu, ac mae menyw o Aberteifi’n derbyn llythyr difyr oddi wrth Mr J. Gwynne Jones sydd wedi’i leoli ym Mhencadlys Corfflu Byddin India, Byddin Ymgyrchol Prydain.  Daw newyddion gan y Preifat Fred Davies (Llandysul) sy’n gwasanaethu gyda Byddin Ymgyrchol Awstralia, am ‘ganibaliaid, blingwyr pennau a llarpwyr dynion’.  Mae ymgyrch recriwtio catrawd newydd y Gwarchodlu Cymreig yn mynd yn dda, er bod dadlau ynglŷn â’r bathodyn, yr arwyddair a’r lliwiau.

The French are searching for wounded with dogs whilst a lady in Cardigan lady receives an amusing letter from Mr J. Gwynne Jones who is stationed at the headquarters of the Indian Army Corps, British Expeditionary Force.  Private Fred Davies (Llandyssul) serving with the Australian Expeditionary Force sends news of ‘cannibals, scalp hunters and man eaters’.   Recruiting is progressing well for the new regiment of Welsh Guards  although there is controversy with regard to the badge, motto and colours.
