Wythnos 65/week 65: 27 Hydref-2Tachwedd/27 Oct-2Nov 1915

Dim colledigion yr wythnos yma er y mae nifer o adroddiadau am y rhai hynny sydd ar goll neu wedi eu hanafu yn ‘Local War Items’. ‘Will YOU VOLUNTEER – OR – BE FETCHED’, –poster eitha’ bygythiol a ymddengesir yn y Cardigan and Tivyside Advertiser. Mae Preifet David Jones yn gofyn am beiriant torri gwallt gan mai siswrn yn unig sydd ganddo a mae’n debyg ei fod yn ‘very slow to use’. Ceir adroddiad manwl ar ymgyrch y Gwarchodlu Cymreig i ail-gipio ‘Hill 70’,- lleoliad Almaenig pwysig ger Loos a gweler hefyd naratif Preifet Andrew Thom o brofiadau dynion Aberteifi pan yn ymladd yn Gallipoli.

No losses this week but there are many reports of those who have been wounded or lost in ‘Local War Items’, whilst there is a rather intimidating poster,- Will YOU VOLUNTEER – OR –BE Fetched?’ in the Cardigan and Tivyside Advertiser. Private David Jones asks for the donation of a ‘hair-cutting’ machine as he has only a pair of scissors which apparently ‘are very slow to use’. There is also a detailled report on the actions of the Welsh Guard in their drive to recapture the important German position of Hill 70 near Loos and Private Andrew Thom’s narrative regarding the experiences of Cardigan men fighting in Gallipoli.
