Aberayron – mae P.C. Oliver wedi dod o hyd i’r dihangwr Wilfred Ainsworth yn Llanina Arms, Llanarth; mae Jack Dawson wedi ei golli yn yr ymladd tra bod Tom Pugh Lewis, Geraint M. Howell a Morgan Davies adre’ yn cael seibiant o’r ymladd.

Llangwyryfon – Darllenir y bod pedwar mab gan Mr T. M. Edwards, Pencommins yn ymwneud a’i Rhyfel tra bod W.W. Hughes o Highmead Arms, Llanybyther wedi derbyn medal y groes filwrol.

There are snippets of news from across the county;-

Aberayron  -  a deserter is remanded to await an escort; Mr Jack Dawson is missing in action and ‘our boys’ are home on leave.

Ffairhos –  Ex-Guardsman D. J. Jones is rewarded for gallantry.

Mydroilyn  -  Private Daniel Thomas Jenkins has been home on furlough.

The ex-Mayor of Lampeter travels to Brecon to witness the arrival of the first four groups of Cardiganshire Reservists.

A photograph of Private D. Mathias appears in the Cambrian News. Private D. Mathias has been mentioned in past weeks of this project.

Llangwyryfon  -  a report on the four sons of Mr T. M. Edwards, Pencommins.

New Quay  -  Brynmor Rees and Private Llewelyn Patrick are home on leave.

Penuwch  -  the ‘brave boys of Penuwch’ express their gratitude and Tom Jones, Garnwen has been promoted Lance-Corporal.

Llanybyther  -  Captain and Adjutant W. W. Hughes has been awarded the military cross medal.

Tregaron  -  Men of Tregaron leave for Brecon Barracks and a lantern lecture ‘A Year of War’ is shown.

Llanwenog  -  the men of the area are advised to attest without further delay.

Cardigan  -  Dr R. Pryce Mitchell is ‘mentioned in dispatches’.

Bowen Bros of Cardigan announce that due to senior staff having joined the Army it is necessary to close the shop for dinner hour every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The War Items reports that Private Llewellyn Morgan of Cardigan has arrived home as has Private Ioan Morgans who is on sick leave suffering from frost-bite.

The ladies and school children of Coedybryn send gifts to their menfolk who are serving with the colours.

Private D. Ll. Jenkins pays an unexpected visit to Synod Inn and brothers David and James Thomas have seen much fighting in the Dardenelles.
