Wythnos/Week 120: 17-23 Tachwedd/November 1916

[English below]

Argraffwyd lluniau yr wythnos yma o rhai hynny sydd ynglwm â’r brwydro gan gynnwys arwr o Lanbadarn, Preifat Evan Richard Jones a laddwyd ar faes y gad ar 13eg o Hydref ac Is-gorpral Thomas Edward Evans o Goginan a laddwyd ar 18fed o Hydref.

Yng Ngogledd y Sir mae Preifat Emlyn Jones yn ymweld â Phonterwyd, ei fan geni, ond derbyniwyd newyddion trist yn Borth am farwolaeth Preifat D.J. Jones a laddwyd gan belenni ffrwydrol ar brynhawn, Tachwedd 1af.

Yn Aberystwyth mae’r myfyrwyr yn chwarae pel droed yn erbyn y milwyr clwyfedig ac yn ennill o un gol i ddim tra bod Is-gapten D. Powell yn treulio amser adre’ ar ol ei brofiad annioddefol yn Ffrainc.

Ysgrifenna J. Islan Jones lythyr i Capten Pendlebury yn dweud ei fod yn cyfathrebu a rhyw ddau ddwsin o filwyr.

Yn olaf am y tro, mae’r Cambrian News yn hysbysebu eu llyfrynnau ‘For Your Boy at the Front’ a cheir hysbyseb rhif 6 o gyfres y ‘Women Workers’ gan Rowntree’s Elect Cocoa.

Photographs published this week of those who are involved in the fighting include that of Llanbadarn hero, Private Evan Richard Jones who was killed in action on October 13th, and Goginan man, Lance Corporal Thomas Edward Evans, who was killed in action on October 18th.

North of the county Private Emlyn Jones visits his place of birth in Ponterwyd but sadly news reaches Borth of the death of Private D.J. Jones who was killed by shell fire on the afternoon of November 1st.

In Aberystwyth the students play football against the wounded soldiers and win by one goal to nil, whilst in Rhydlewis, Lieutenant D. Powell is home on leave after his trying experience in France.

J Islan Jones writes a letter to Captain Pendlebury in which he states that he now has a list of about 2 dozen soldiers with whom he is in communication.

Finally the Cambrian News advertises their thin paper pads ‘For Your Boy at the Front’, and No 6 of the ‘Women Workers’ Series’ advertises ‘Rowntree’s Elect Cocoa’.
