Wythnos/week 152: 29 Mehefin/June-5 Gorffennaf/July 1917

[English below]

Wythnos 152 ac mae J. Islan Jones yn derbyn llythyr a gafodd ei ailgyfeirio i’w gartref yng Nghribyn. Daeth gohebiaeth oddi wrth T. Sefton sydd yn falch o gael dweud na fu’n rhaid iddo golli ei fraich (mae eisoes wedi colli ei law) a bod y gwenwyn nwy wedi clirio o’i fraich bron yn gyfan gwbl.

Cydymdeimlad dwysaf â theulu’r Preifat W.O. Thomas Blaen-porth a fu farw ar faes y gad yn Ffrainc.

Mae lluniau o bedwar o arwyr fu farw yn y Cardigan and Tivyside: Y Preifat J. Emrys Ladd, Llandudoch, Y Preifat J. Thomas, Aberporth, Y Swyddog Cyflenwi Joseph E. James, a’r Swyddog Cyflenwi John A. Rees, ill dau o Aberporth.

Mae R. Williams o Fferyllfa’r Borth yn cynnwys rhaglen gyflawn ar gyfer perfformiad operatig o Bohemian Girl (fel y bu sôn yn y newyddion yr wythnos diwethaf) mewn cais am ganiatâd i werthu tocynnau ar gyfer y cyngerdd uchod.

Week 152 and J. Islan Jones receives a letter which has been redirected to his home in Cribyn. This is further communication from T. Sefton who is relieved to report that a further amputation (he has already lost a hand) has been avoided as the gas poisoning in his arm is almost cleared out.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Private W.O. Thomas of Blaenporth who has fallen on the battlefield in France.

Photographs of four ‘Fallen Heroes’ appear in the Cardigan and Tivyside: Private J. Emrys Ladd of St. Dogmaels, Private J. Thomas of Aberporth, Quarter-Master Joseph E. James and Quarter-Master John A. Rees, both of Aberporth.

R. Williams of the ‘Drug Stores’ Borth encloses the complete programme for the operatic performance of Bohemian Girl (which was mentioned in last week’s news) in an application for permission to sell tickets for the aforementioned concert.
